What is the difference between a naturopathic doctor and a medical doctor?
Naturopathic doctors adopt a comprehensive approach to health, emphasizing natural and holistic methods. They focus on preventive care, identifying underlying causes, and supporting the body's self-healing mechanisms through dietary advice, herbal remedies, lifestyle modifications, and other natural therapies. Medical doctors, on the other hand, typically concentrate on diagnosing and treating specific ailments or symptoms using pharmaceutical interventions, surgical procedures, and other conventional medical approaches. While naturopathic practitioners prioritize long-term wellness and prevention, medical doctors often specialize in acute care and symptom management. Can any of your doctors serve as my primary care physician (PCP)?
Our naturopathic doctors cannot officially serve as your primary care physician. However, as members of a Primary Membership Association (PMA), many patients choose to work with Dr. Underwood in a capacity similar to a PCP for their holistic health and wellness requirements.
Do you take insurance?
Our clinic does not accept traditional insurance as we do not adhere to conventional Western medicine practices. However, patients may utilize alternative payment options such as Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), or health share organizations to cover our services.
